Hardware
Soft sensing for corrective pressure points.
Curva combines a Velostat sheet, a voltage-divider circuit, and an ESP32-S3 that sends a relative pressure percentage to the app over Bluetooth.
How it connects
From contact inside the brace to a readable app signal.
The firmware captures an unloaded baseline, watches resistance change, smooths the signal, and transmits a 0–100% relative pressure index. The current prototype does not report clinical force in newtons or kilopascals.
- 1Sense
Velostat changes resistance under contact.
- 2Process
The ESP32-S3 samples and smooths the reading.
- 3Share
Bluetooth sends the percentage to Curva.
Prototype measurement
Curva’s percentage is intended for comparing relative contact over time. It does not tell a patient to tighten or loosen a brace.
